Robotic Solution for Landmine Detection

Problem

The problem at hand is developing a safe efficient way to identify and mark landmines while laying out a safe path for future traffic. Current detection methods available to countries that cannot afford the latest technology in mine sweeping put humans and animals in harm's way.

Solution

Our team's solution was to design a mine-sweeping prototype that could safely navigate a potential mine field without the need for close human interaction. The robot would complete three main tasks: Locate potential mine, mark potential mine, and mark a safe trail avoiding potential mine.  The robot needed to be easy to use and relatively inexpensive to build and produce.  For an update on our team's progress during the social distancing order, please view our videos here:
